Overview
In this project, I tried to replicate some of the key features of ThingsBoard. The project is also gave me an excuse to learn Golang by implementing it for the backend.
NOTE: The backend of this project is unfinished. It is expected to be completed by 08 Feb 2025.
Key Features
- User Management: Manage users and assign roles to them.
- Device Management & Integration: Manage devices and provide entities to gather data
- Real-time Data: Display real-time data received from sensors on the dashboard.
- Alarm Generation: Generate the alarms base on rules and conditions set by the user.
Technologies Used
- React and Next.js: Build the front-end codebase with clean, reusable components.
- TailwindCSS & Shadcn: Create beatiful and functional UI components.
- InfluxDB: Store time-series data.
- Golang: Create the API backend service and access the database.
- Node-RED: Manage the data flow between services.
Challenges and Learnings
The primary challenge with this project was developing the API service using Golang since I have never worked with Golang before.
